ENROLLMENT CLOSES IN

Our Email System Has Helped Hundreds of Students

Here are just a few of the rave reviews we’ve received from our customers:

“ I’ve gotten so much out of it. I think that it really covers everything that people need to know about email. There are always ways to tinker around with systems (the ROI diminishes after a while), but I was frustrated by my less-than-stellar workflows on my iOS devices, and by not being able to settle on a particular system. The great thing about the course is that you guys have done the hard work of shortlisting the good email clients for macOS and iOS, so that we don’t have to waste heaps of time trying heaps of different clients. I now have a tried-and-true system that works. Without you guys many of us would still be floundering in the sea of 80% bad and 20% good email clients and practices. ”

“ The course has helped me in my life in a huge way that I can best sum up like this: as a meditator and meditation teacher, as well as as a writer, there is a greater degree of quiet in my mind and my life, as if a huge source of background static had been dialed down. This frees up a lot of space for me to focus on what’s more important to me — to meditate, do yoga, be with my family, and write from a deep and quiet and connected place.

Also, forcing myself to process the emails and schedule the associated tasks has helped me get a lot clearer about my time management and to realistically assess how much I have to do, and whether in fact I am EVER going to get to some of those tasks.

I now have established a reliable system for processing my email box and sending tasks to OmniFocus where I process and manage them. My system is a huge step up from where it was. I have a system for checking email only twice a day and in general have been doing great on it!

I have finally attained Inbox Zero if not at the end of every work day (which I’ve discovered is an unrealistic goal because emails just keep coming in and I don’t always want to do my zeroing at the end of the day), then at least once in the course of the work day. And I do zero it out before shutting down for my “digital sabbath”. ”

“ I took this course because email is a very important tool for me, but I felt my inboxes were out of control and only getting worse. Between all my email accounts, I estimate I had about 1,700 messages in my inboxes. I have tried other techniques before, such as declaring email bankruptcy, and using “Action”, “Review”, and “Waiting For” folders. The bankruptcy solved nothing, and moving things to folders was for me the same as “file it and forget it” – I never reviewed what I put in them.

I was looking for techniques that would help to liberate me from the tyranny of out-of-control inboxes. I am a knowledge worker, and part of my professional success involves staying on top of large quantities of information – everything from meeting minutes to bulletins describing the latest IT security threats. Plus, I’m just interested in a lot of different things, and receive interesting newsletters about all of them. So my work and personal email inboxes were overflowing with dozens or even hundreds of messages, many unread, that I planned to come back and review in more detail “soon”.

When I received an email that was “important but not urgent” and that would take some time to review, I would leave it in my inbox as a way to “remind” me to look at it later when I had more time. What would happen about 60% of the time is that I would never look at it again (unless it became urgent) because it soon got buried under new emails and was no longer “under my nose”. Now I use one of the AE recommended email programs that provides individual message URLs. I can then make a “review this email” task in my task manager which includes the message URL, making it super-easy to find the email when I am ready to review it.

This email course has shown me better and sustainable ways to handle all of that information without missing important or useful information. I am finding that as I implement these ideas, it is becoming less stressful and overwhelming to check my email each day. That sense of “drowning in information” is diminishing, and confidence in my new, more efficient systems is growing. I highly recommend this course. ”

“ My biggest frustration was transitioning email to a task that would be done during the appropriate time, in the appropriate context. I felt I wasted a lot of time on email, never feeling like I got deep work done because I just dwelled in the murky depths of the inbox…it never seemed to clear out! I would take care of one email and it would trigger others!

Email is a form of communication that allows my worlds to move forward and now that I have tools to improve my email communication, I have cut down on the amount of email I have to process because fewer clarification follow-ups are needed.

I am now also able to move quickly through the emails that are necessary to take action on. I have cut down my personal inbox significantly by unsubscribing to merchant offers and have not felt like I am missing out.

I have learned so much and put into practice most of it. I am standing out at my job in terms of my ability to do deep work and yet be responsive in a timely manner, and I have been assigned more responsibility as a result.

I have been telling everyone I could about being involved with this and have challenged my coworkers to feel more release about email management using some simple tips learned in this course. They are excited to know more! ”

“ I was struggling with my email system because I was overwhelmed by my client emails. I was looking for a better system – especially on how to integrate it with my own “private/work” productivity system I’ve built myself over the years.

With some helpful tips of the course I accomplished to integrate your email system in my own system. I now spend much less time in my inbox and also the processing (decision making) of emails goes much faster leaving more time for the real work I’m hired to do for my clients. I’m not overwhelmed by emails anymore.

This course also helped me to better tweak my private/work system. I got rid of the smart folders and I’m making better use of Evernote as my reference system.

This is stuff they should teach you at school. Last weekend I noticed the inbox of my son (he needed my help with something) and I was flabbergasted by the number of emails in his inbox. They do not teach anything about handling email in school. So I have given myself the task to educate him on the benefits of having a robust email system thanks to your materials.

I want to thank all of you that created this course and for the time and effort put into it. It must have been quite some work to put together all these videos. I really enjoyed participating in this course and it made my life a lot easier. ”

“ Before I started this course, I was tied to email. I was in my email inbox all day every day and constantly checked email in the evening after work. I checked email first thing in the morning and was the last thing I did before I went to bed. I didn’t want to miss any important emails and was afraid that if I didn’t respond right away, I would be perceived as incompetent. I was really hoping that this course would show me some skills to help me manage email expectations and to show me how to process email in a more efficient way.

I can’t tell you how transformative this course has been for me and and how much I’ve learned. I’ve gone from constantly having email open on one monitor and working on the other monitor, to only checking email three times a day at work and then checking my personal email again once more in the evening. I’m now spending less than 30 minutes per day TOTAL in email. Wow. What a difference! The difference for me was changing how I process email and having an action for every email (delete, archive, reference, task). I’ve been able to stick with it and now I don’t even think about email. I’m not worried about what’s in “Waiting” or which emails are still in “Action”. It’s freeing. Now I have an email system with zero folders and an awesome system!

I’ve completely transformed my work and the way I process email. My system is looks completely different than it did before I started this course. I am so much more efficient now and I will recommend this course to anyone who feels stuck in email. ”

“ I knew I was not dealing with email in an efficient and effective way. The problem was I did not know what a good system could look like much less how a good system could work and how to build a reliable, trusted system. This was also my first time to check the AE team, from a commercial viewpoint. I have been receiving emails for several months and found them helpful and insightful. I wondered about the other products offered by AE. This course gave me a chance to check out a product that is much more substantive than emails, newsletters, or blog postings.

My experience with the course has been very rewarding. This was one of the first opportunities I have had – actually, probably the first time I have been required – to think about the way I work. The inefficiencies in my whole workflow, not just email, showed up in crystal clear light. The face-palm realizations were then followed by the insights, helpful suggestions, and so many useful remedies offered by the video tutors. For me, the course content extended way beyond email, further than I could have imagined. An office colleague was just complaining to me the other day about FOMO and feeling like he is a slave to his email. I could immediately empathize, then share some of the gold nuggets I harvested during the course.

I feel like email is finally put into place. I run it; it does not run me. I also realize now how much of an energy sink my inbox was. Coupled with other AE guidance that I gleaned from emails and posts, I am thrilled that I am thinking about the ways I work. I can see that I can change the ways I work – for the better! – rather than stick with old inefficient habits. I feel like I now see how I can put screaming, urgent, unimportant work in its place and use the quiet, quality time to move me toward the big goals of more research time and the payoff: more publications. ”
